The man had been enjoying illicit substances for a long time in the past. This led to a violation of the law and imprisonment. Currently, 55-year-old Anatoliy has moved from the Adaptation Center for the Homeless and Released from Prisons of the "Light of Hope" NGO to rented housing and is making plans where there is no room for mistakes from the past.
"I served a long term. I had time to think about my decisions and actions. I realized that if I was released, I would not be able to get on the path of correction on my own. People like me need help at this stage. Because if you return to your old life and surroundings, sooner or later everything will start again: alcohol, drugs, crimes," Anatoliy shares his thoughts.

So, upon his release, he immediately began looking for support in adapting. At first, he lived in a rehabilitation center, then moved to our shelter:
"You need to change your circle of friends immediately. So that there are no people with bad habits among your acquaintances. Reach out to those who can be an example and give valuable advice. For example, a social worker from the Adaptation Center will tell you how to do better. She found me a job. I went for an interview and got the job."
At first, his colleagues were afraid of the man. But later they were convinced that he was not dangerous. Now Anatoliy works two jobs. He plans his budget and determines priorities:
"It's nice that you can afford to buy quality clothes, eat well. And I'm especially glad that I've changed my communication skills and can maintain a conversation. You feel normal! And you walk with your head held high."
The next motivation for Anatoly is to save up for dental services to get his perfect smile back. We are sure that he will succeed in this too!
The Center's activities are carried out with the support of the program of social security and social protection of the population of the Poltava urban territorial community "Care".
