The Light of Hope charitable organization has been operating since 1999 and has been a leader in providing social services in the Poltava region for over 20 years.
Who are we working for?
Light of Hope is a service organization that provides social, medical and other services for the following categories of people:
People living with HIV, their partners and families
People in treatment for tuberculosis
Injecting and non-injecting drug users
Sex workers
Men who have sex with men
Internally displaced persons
Women victims of domestic and gender-based violence
Victims of human trafficking
Homeless people
Prisoners and persons released from prison
We also provide mentoring, consulting and grant support to other NGOs to improve and develop their institutional potential.
History
Discover the history of our foundation
1999
The history of the Light of Hope charitable organization began in 1999 with the creation of a self-help group to help people living with HIV/AIDS.
2012
In 2012 the Center for Adaptation was founded as part of the Light of Hope activities. The main goal of the Center is to create an effective system of social adaptation for homeless people, prisoners and people released from prison and other people in difficult life circumstances.
2017
In 2017, we created the Shelter for Women, a safe space that provides comprehensive services for temporary accommodation, counseling, reintegration, as well as psychological and legal assistance to women who have suffered from domestic and gender-based violence.
2014
In 2014, the association changed its status and became the Light of Hope Charitable Organization.
2024
Light of Hope is one of the largest charitable organizations in the Poltava region that provides social services. With over 24 years of experience, we have already implemented more than 200 successful projects, provided millions of tons of humanitarian and other aid, and continue to help those in need throughout Ukraine.
