A separate block of first aid training for teachers is dedicated to this topic.

Employees of educational institutions of the Poltava community are studying the algorithm of actions in a situation where it is necessary to stop the bleeding of a victim. They also hone these skills in practice.
The procedure studied by the training participants:
- first make sure of your own safety and only then help others;
- find the source of bleeding;
- in a situation where you do not have a first aid kit with you - apply direct pressure to the wound and call emergency services, clearly and correctly reporting the situation;
- apply a tourniquet if there is massive bleeding on one of the limbs;
- apply tamponade with direct pressure, for example, if the wound is in the armpit, groin, or neck area;
- apply a bandage if the wound and bleeding are minor.
All training participants tried to practice each option for providing assistance.

"The information was presented in an accessible way, with real examples and practical skills. The atmosphere was friendly and motivating, attention was paid to each participant of the training. Now I feel more confident in my actions in case of emergency situations," - teacher Oksana.

"I believe that such trainings are needed in our time and should be held constantly. The practical experience gained is difficult to overestimate," - teacher Serhiy.

"An extremely useful event. I really liked the instructor's professional approach to presenting theoretical material and practical exercises," said teacher Svitlana.

The training takes place within the framework of the project "Creating Community Safety Together" and is implemented by the Light of Hope NGO thanks to the Ukrainian Rapid Response Fund program, which is implemented by IREX with the support of the US Department of State.
