The doctor of the mobile medical team timely diagnosed the man with an infectious disease and recommended his hospitalization. In one of the settlements of the Popivska community of the Konotop district of Sumy region, a 60-year-old man came to see the specialists of the mobile team.
"He complained of abdominal pain, diarrhea, and severe weakness. The body temperature was elevated to 39 degrees. Before taking action, I studied the man's medical history," said doctor Sofia Bezverkha.
The patient said that he worked on the land plot. He did not follow the rules of hygiene during snacks. And there were raw eggs in the diet. The doctor made a preliminary diagnosis - salmonellosis:
"This condition required immediate hospitalization in an infectious disease department and specific treatment."
The hospital confirmed the preliminary diagnosis. The man underwent treatment and was later discharged from the hospital.
Sofia Bezverkha reminds that it is important to always follow the rules of hygiene, and consuming uncooked eggs, meat, and fish can be life-threatening. If you feel unwell, consult a doctor. Do not delay, as this may complicate the situation.
Residents of the Popivska community, thanks to the support of European countries, can quickly receive free consultations from a doctor, psychologist, or social worker. After all, a mobile team travels to the community's villages every weekday to provide people with the necessary assistance. This is possible thanks to the initiative "Health without Borders. Sumy Region", which is implemented by the "Light of Hope" NGO within the framework of the EMPOWER project, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) together with the European Union and implemented by GIZ Ukraine.
