One hundred people are acquiring their dream profession free of charge thanks to the project "Support for the social and financial recovery of war-affected communities in the Poltava region."

Training in eight specialties has begun for those who have decided to reorient their careers in accordance with the demands of the labor market. Project participants are acquiring the following specialties:

  • accountant;
  • transport logistician;
  • hairdresser;
  • manicurist;
  • barber;
  • beekeeper;
  • gardener;
  • vegetable grower.

Depending on the field, the training will last from one and a half to four months. Graduates will receive a corresponding certificate.

“Previously, it was purely my hobby. Then something didn’t work out for me and I gave it up. I’ve never been a professional. And now there’s this opportunity and I wanted to try it. The training exceeded all my expectations. As a teacher, I can give this assessment,” says Larisa, a participant in the manicure master course, sharing her impressions.
“I like doing manicures. I’ve been interested in it for a long time, but I never had the opportunity to reach a professional level. I’m grateful that I finally have this chance. But I didn’t even expect that the training would be so interesting. Because a lot depends on the teacher. We’re lucky and we study everything down to the smallest detail until we learn the theory and master the technique,” adds another course participant, Maria.

The project also included the opportunity for grant-based education. This is a special cash voucher that you can use to pay for your desired education yourself. Five people took advantage of it.

The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by the Light of Hope NGO in partnership with JERU (Joint Emergency Response in Ukraine of the international NGOs Welthungerhilfe and Concern Worldwide).
