Specialists of the NGO "Light of Hope" organized an interactive game for high school students at the Shcherbanivka Lyceum. The activity is dedicated to the International Day for the Abolition of Slavery, which is celebrated on December 2.
More than 50 students participated in a quest developed by the International Organization for Migration. Boys and girls, united in teams, faced risky situations in a game format while looking for a job. The tasks they had to solve in the quest can lead to a real-life situation of human trafficking. Thus, the participants of the game learned about the most common tricks used by human traffickers or exploiters.
"The charity organization "Light of Hope", as an executive partner of the International Organization for Migration in the Poltava region, has repeatedly held a quest for youth. It is important for us that upon completion, participants gain skills on how to recognize dangerous offers or situations and not agree to them in real life," emphasized Tetyana Pitsenko, coordinator of the anti-trafficking department of the NGO "Light of Hope".

Therefore, the main victory of the teams is the experience gained. The coordinator talked about it with all the participants at the Final station. The boys and girls analyzed where they acted correctly and where their similar steps in real life could lead to situations of exploitation or human trafficking.
For participating in the quest, all participants received souvenir gifts and useful information materials.
The event took place within the framework of the project "Ensuring a comprehensive response in Poltava region to protect persons affected by war-related violence, gender-based violence, human trafficking or exploitation", which is implemented by the Light of Hope NGO within the framework of the Protection Program of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Ukraine with funding from the US Department of State.
