The Light of Hope NGO is organizing a series of trainings on first aid thanks to the Ukrainian Rapid Response Fund program, which is implemented by IREX with the support of the US Department of State.
Events will take place in the Poltava community for employees:
- educational institutions;
- communal services involved in the elimination of the consequences of emergencies;
- municipal enterprise "Poltavaelectrotrans";
- executive committee of the Poltava City Council;
- veteran center and ASN.
Training in new skills is carried out at the request of the Poltava City Council and is designed to strengthen the participants' resilience to the challenges they face in wartime.
“First aid training covers workers who come into contact with a large number of people on a daily basis or who could potentially find themselves at the epicenter of an emergency. Therefore, their ability to respond correctly could save someone’s life. It's great that the city authorities are also interested in this initiative and I am confident that our synergy will bring significant benefits to the community," said Serhiy Zhuk, Chairman of the Board of the Light of Hope NGO.
"I know the value of minutes that can save a life. And I am well aware of how important it is to always have someone nearby who knows how to act quickly and correctly. That is why it is of fundamental importance to me that as many people as possible in Poltava have first aid skills. Especially those who interact with a large number of residents every day: teachers, drivers, utility workers. This is about the safety of the community, which relies on people," said Kateryna Yamshchykova, secretary of the Poltava City Council.
The parties signed a memorandum of cooperation and interaction and discussed further steps for the successful implementation of an important idea.
