Over 260 first aid kits and 730 turnstiles were provided to municipal institutions of the Poltava City Council from the Light of Hope NGO.

Home medical aid is intended for:

  • educational institutions;
  • municipal services involved in the elimination of the consequences of emergencies;
  • municipal enterprise "Poltavaelectrotrans";
  • executive committee of the Poltava City Council;
  • veteran center and ASN.
"The transfer of first aid kits and turnstiles is the final stage within the project "Creating Community Safety Together". Thanks to the "Ukrainian Rapid Response Fund" program, implemented by IREX with the support of the US Department of State, almost 1,000 municipal employees attended trainings on first aid. Poltava rescuers also received first-aid kits, turnstiles, and stretchers,” said Serhiy Zhuk, chairman of the board of the “Light of Hope” NGO, during a meeting with Kateryna Yamshchykova, secretary of the Poltava City Council.

At the meeting, the parties discussed the results of the project and the prospects for further cooperation in implementing similar initiatives.

"From the Poltava City Council's perspective, it's about responsibility. We are obligated to ensure that every employee of the city council has the skills of tactical medicine. Be able to save themselves and those around them. We have embarked on the path that we want to continue. So that all employees have such skills and improve them. Therefore, we thank "Light of Hope" and partners," said Kateryna Yamshchykova, Secretary of the Poltava City Council.

Together we form a safe, cohesive, and responsible community where everyone knows how to act and help others.
