The Chairman of the Board of the NGO "Light of Hope" Serhiy Zhuk held a joint training with colleagues from the NGO "Network of 100% Life. Zaporizhzhia". These activities are carried out within the framework of a project with the UN Women's Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF). As part of the initiative to strengthen the expertise of both organizations, the meeting discussed:
- algorithm of actions for successfully promoting the interests of a certain social group;
- the importance of understanding the structure of public administration in order to influence them to achieve change;
- communication tools in advocacy;
- the participation of non-governmental organizations in shaping local social policy.
The participants of the meeting shared successful advocacy cases that contributed to social changes regarding vulnerable categories of the population. In particular, Serhiy Zhuk spoke about the work of the Adaptation Center for the Homeless and Released from Prisons and the Shelter for Women and Children of the NGO "Light of Hope" as a successful example of budget advocacy.
The cooperation initiative in the format of an educational hub is being implemented by the Light of Hope NGO, funded by The United Nations Women’s Peace andHumanitarian Fund (WPHF) with technical support of UN Women Ukraine.The United Nations Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) mobilizes critical support for local and grassroots civil society organizations working on women, peace and security and humanitarian action. WPHF is a flexible and rapid financing mechanism supporting quality interventions designed to enhance the capacity of women to prevent conflict, respond to crises and emergencies, and seize key peacebuilding opportunities.
