We met with the Charge d'Affaires of Germany in Ukraine, Maximilian Rausch, to share his experience in supporting those affected by the war.

The Light of Hope NGO team participated in a meeting of our partners, the JERU organization (Joint Emergency Response in Ukraine of international NGOs Welthungerhilfe and Concern Worldwide) with a delegation from the German Embassy in Ukraine.

JERU Deputy Head of Projects and Programs for Providing Livelihoods and Economic Recovery Hanna Kurochka told the delegation about the organization's work areas aimed at supporting vulnerable populations.
The meeting was also attended by recipients of assistance within the framework of projects implemented by the Light of Hope NGO. This is the Ukrainian Grain Trading Company (UGTC), which, thanks to grant support, was able to overcome the logistics crisis caused by shelling of railway and port infrastructure.

Ms. Yana, a participant in the retraining program, shared her story. She acquired a new specialty free of charge to increase her competitiveness in the labor market.

These cases are also interesting because later the UGTC company became a participant in the employment program, hiring Ms. Yana. Thus, the graduate of the training program works in a new specialty. And the company will receive financial assistance for three months to pay for her work.

This example demonstrates the importance of international assistance for both businesses suffering losses due to war and vulnerable people. It also shows how different support instruments interact with each other and thereby improve the overall outcome.

Representatives of the delegation of the German Embassy in Ukraine personally heard from the recipients of aid about the benefits of the project, which is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by the Light of Hope NGO in partnership with JERU (Joint Emergency Response in Ukraine of international NGOs Welthungerhilfe and Concern Worldwide).
