More than 500 Ukrainians have been recognized as victims of human trafficking since the beginning of this year. Among them are 8 people from Poltava region. Such data was published by the National Social Service of Ukraine.
On July 30, World Day Against Human Trafficking, Kateryna Berezhna, a trainer for preventive activities at the Light of Hope NGO, held an information and prevention event for residents of the Shcherbanivka community. She talked about how to protect yourself from falling into slavery, find a job, and travel safely.

The trainer devoted special attention to the topic of online job searching. In particular, together with the attendees, she analyzed:
▪ red flags of unrealistically attractive vacancies;
▪ typical psychological manipulations and pressure from potential employers or intermediaries, even in correspondence;
▪ reluctance to confirm the official status of the company.

Thanks to such measures, as many people as possible have the opportunity to learn to recognize deception and avoid falling into a human trafficking situation.
